Bernard Kamya of Kamya Consulting Ltd undertook a specialist masonry arch spandrel wall load assessment to BS5628/EC6 for Ellis Reed Vice President, Bridges Stantec Group in June 2018. The masonry arch is of coral stone construction with spandrel walls of 21m high, built in 1800s in the Carribeans. The masonry arch bridge is to be subjected to abnormal load movement of wind turbines and the load assessment was to verify the suitability of the existing spandrel to withstand load pressures during the abnormal load movement over the bridge.

Bernard Kamya has been undertaking specialist industry expert assignments to Edinburgh Napier University as part-time lecturer under zero hours contract since September 2006. From May 2018 Zero hours contract have been changed to short term specialst industry expert assignment.
Bernard undertakes the following lecture assignments.
a) Construction Contracts and contract proceedures, with emphasis on New Engineering Contract NEC. For undergraduates, post graduates and industry professionals.
b) Waste Management. Covering the EU waste framework directives, National legislative framework and Regulatory control. Compliance for households and industry. Lecturing to post graduate and industry professionals.
c) Strategic Management: Construction production management and strategic control. To post graduate and industry professionals.
Kamya Consulting Ltd's Bernard Kamya assigned under Atkins Global to AWPR project as Design Site Engineer's Representative (DSER)-Structures, South Section for 21 months June 2016-Feb 2018
Bernard has been DSER (Design Site Engineer Representative) -Structures in the South section on the AWPR (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) project for 21 months. Key responsibility included dealing with onsite technical queries, construction material approvals and design, construction and material non-conformance issues on site. The role was to provide design onsite support to the contractor in effective interpretation and translation of designer intent to the contractor during the construction process.
Southern Leg: 18.7km from Charleston to North Kingswells, included 13 bridges to south of new Maryculter Bridge of Dee
Fastlink: 11.5km from Stonehaven to Cleanhill, included 6 bridges.
The section also included 18 culverts
